Case Studies
In fall of 2010, Nitor Partners began work with DSM to identify and achieve sourcing savings across their North American operations. DSM has transformed itself via acquisitions from predominantly a basic chemicals company to a Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company.
As part of this transformation, DSM recognized the need for stronger regional sourcing and procurement operations across all business groups. Nitor Partners worked collaboratively with DSM Purchasing and the business groups to identify and pursue sourcing savings in a variety of indirect categories.
The savings potential identified to date exceeds 16%, and the team has worked closely with business stakeholders at multiple sites as the sourcing work unfolds.
Nitor Partners served as the sole consulting firm for National City’s complex and aggressive corporate-wide deployment of the entire Ariba Spend Management suite. As a result of the Nitor led implementation, National City was awarded the Ariba Pioneer award for having the ‘best Ariba deployment’ in the history of Ariba (AribaLive 2007). Included in this implementation, Nitor architected the industry’s first and only real-time integration between Ariba Invoicing and Sabrix, a third party sales and use tax solution.
In early 2009, Cricket Communications began an initiative to revamp their procurement organization through improved processes and industry leading technology. Nitor Partners provided strategic direction to the Procurement Executives on Spend Management processes and tool selection for each stage in the P2P lifecycle. During this time period, Nitor Partners was also selected to implement a Contract Management and Supplier Performance Management solution utilizing the Ariba platform. The Nitor team provided process improvements to streamline contract authoring as well as capture more accurate contract information to be reported on. For Supplier Management, the three largest categories were targeted for KPIs and metrics. Utilizing the SPM tool, more accurate supplier information was captured leading to more creative and informative supplier discussions.
